Originally a traditional signwriter business based in Luton, the family migrated over to Worcester and soon became one of the UK’s first computerised sign-making business. Now an incorporated company, City Signs produce all things signage from plaques, flags and banners to vehicle livery, shop fascias and everything in between.
City Signs has grown year on year building a successful and reputable business. With an ever-expanding clientele, they needed to rethink their existing dated ISDN phone system. Calls often went to answerphone due to only having two lines or if the team were busy and unable to answer. City Signs needed a new system that could deal with a higher volume of calls and be able to grow with the business.
City Signs existing supplier was unable to quote so based on reputation and from network connections, Darren Wilkins – Director of City Signs approached Spire.
Spire took the time to get to know the business and understand what Darren needed and more importantly what he wanted from a new phone system. After a short period of time and consideration, Spire offered an affordable and cost-effective solution using VoIP. This also included a new broadband line, an effective disaster recovery plan and remote work set up.
Four VoIP systems were installed with pre-recorded professional messages, running on a new broadband connection. Utilising two broadband connections means there is a backup if one fails. A phone was also installed at Darren’s home to receive external and internal calls from the office so he could work remotely.
